GRACE SCHULMAN received the 2016 Frost Medal for Distinguished Lifetime Achievement in American Poetry, awarded by the Poetry Society of America, and in 2019 was inducted a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Her latest book is The Marble Bed (Turtle Point Press, 2020), an eighth book of poems, and a New and Selected will follow. Her recent memoir is Strange Paradise: Portrait of a Marriage (Turtle Point Press, 2018). Her collection of essays is First Loves and Other Adventures (U of Michigan, 2011). 

Among Schulman’s other honors are the Aiken Taylor Award for poetry, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Delmore Schwartz Memorial Award, a New York University’s Distinguished Alumni Award, and a Fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts. She has won five Pushcart Prizes and has been featured seven times on Poetry Daily. About her poems, Harold Bloom has written, “Grace Schulman has developed into one of the permanent poets of her generation.” 

Schulman holds the Ph.D. from New York University. Editor of The Poems of Marianne Moore (Viking, 2003), she is Distinguished Professor of English at Baruch College, C.U.N.Y. Schulman is former director of the Poetry Center, 92nd Street Y, 1974-84, and former poetry editor of The Nation, 1971-2006.

LANCE MORROW is an American essayist whose op ed articles appear regularly in the Wall Street Journal. He is the Henry Grunwald Senior Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington. His essays and book reviews also appear in City Journal, the New York Times and other publications. For many years he was an essayist for TIME magazine. He is a winner of the National Magazine Award and the author of eight books, including Evil: An Investigation; The Best Year of Their Lives: Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon and John Kennedy in 1948; and two memoirs, The Chief and Heart. His essays have been collected in Fishing in the Tiber and Second Drafts of History. Born in Philadelphia, the son of two journalists, Morrow grew up in Washington D.C., and graduated from Harvard, magna cum laude in English literature. After a year as a reporter for the Washington Evening Star, he joined the staff of TIME in New York. Morrow lives in upstate New York with his wife, the author Susan Brind Morrow. He has two sons, James and Justin.
