This story is for you.
In this emotionally vulnerable book, Marci Brockmann reveals how growing up under the strain of mental abuse was mirrored in her subsequent personal relationships. She didn’t know anything different. After repeated mistakes and huge anguish over her mother’s opiate addiction and mental illness, she learned to embrace her own power and took control of her life. She learned that by living her truth, she would always be free! With empathy and transparency, Marci tells a story that is at once typical and burdened by toxicity. She discovered her resilience and whom she is through soul searching, therapy, and creative expression through art to prove how amazing life and love can truly be when you give yourself PERMISSION TO LAND.
Join her on this lifetime adventure.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I am a multi-passionate person unconventionally combining all aspects of my creative life into one hard-to-put-in-a-box venture. I have been a professional photographer, a graphic artist, a public relations assistant, a retail manager, a fundraiser for a non-profit, an artist with her own online art gallery business, a voice actor…all this and I’ve been a high school English teacher for 25 years. And now this summer I’ve added author to the list.
I’m the host of What’s up, Marci? on YouTube where you will find lots of videos whole body and soul wellness, mental health, anxiety, expressive writing, and books that move me and those I care about.
For over forty years, I have been journaling and painting and I swear it keeps me sane. I am a columnist for Elephant Journal and the reception my writing received told me there was a book begging to be written and that became Permission to Land: Searching for Love, Home & Belonging, and the companion journal Permission to Land: Personal Transformation Through Writing.
I earned my B.A. from SUNY New Paltz, an M.A. from LIU/Post, and an M.S. from the University of Phoenix, and I have been a high school English teacher for more than twenty-five years. I live in Long Island, NY, with my husband, our kids, frisky cats, and many fishes.
I am so grateful for my readers - I'm so glad we are going on this life-changing journey together.
