SARAH REINERTSEN
Competitor on CBS’s reality show The Amazing Race and Long Island native SARAH REINERTSEN will speak about and sign her new book In a Single Bound: Losing My Leg, Finding Myself and Training for Life.


Sarah Reinertsen was born with a congenital birth defect. At the age of seven, her leg was amputated. At the age of thirteen, she broke the 100-meter world record for female above-the-knee amputees. At the age of thirty, she became the first female leg-amputee to complete the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. A year later, in CBS’s reality television show The Amazing Race 10, she scaled the Great Wall of China. This book tells her story.
Since 1991 Sarah has recorded numerous athletic accomplishments. She continues to achieve honors and set standards to be followed by athletes, paralympians, and women worldwide. Sarah receives regular media attention and has been featured on the cover of Runner’s World, Triathlete, and MAX Fitness Magazines.
